Rainbow Similes

Today we worked on Rainbow Similes.  First we discussed the correct techinques for painting with watercolor paints.  Next the students painted their own version of a rainbow.  As a class we then brainstormed similes for the colors of the rainbow.  Then the students created their own sentences.  A rainbow is as red as a strawberry, etc.  Lastly, after our rainbows dried the students wrote their sentences in each color.  They were SO proud of their hardwork!  So am I :))
